Meet Art Works! Studio’s Guest Artist Julie Woodard
Julie has always loved creating art and admiring museum works. She was on a career path to become a veterinarian, and first earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at Mount Holyoke College. Changes in her life led her to attaining a master’s degree in clinical psychology at The University of Dayton. After years of doing crisis intervention, substance abuse therapy, and starting a family, Julie started taking drawing and watercolor painting classes which rekindled her love for art.
July has taught classes for youth and adults in drawing, acrylic, watercolor, alcohol ink, printmaking, mixed media, pastel, colored pencils for Young Rembrandt, the Northville Art House, Michaels, Learning and Living and is currently teaching at Schoolcraft collage and private students.
Julie enjoys experimenting with many techniques and mediums, and paints a variety of subjects, while enjoying animals and landscapes the most. Julie paints pet portraits for an annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Huron Valley and offers private pet portrait commissions. Her work is currently represented by Pierre Paul gallery in Ann Arbor, and Mod Market in Northville.
