Art Hive Maker Space Open Studio provides an excellent opportunity for artists of all ages, beginner or experienced, to explore their creativity and unleash their artistic potential. This three-hour session allows students to experiment with a wide range of art materials, including acrylics, watercolors, oil pastels, colored pencils, and collage materials. The studio has various art supplies for students to bring their ideas to life. They can even use recyclable materials, beach glass, driftwood, yarn, wool, and other natural items to add a unique and personal touch to their creations.
It’s important to note that ART HIVE Open Studio is not a structured session, so there will be no formal lessons. Instead, students can explore their artistic abilities in a relaxed and supportive environment. A studio teaching artist will be present to supervise and assist students with supplies, answer technical questions, troubleshoot, and offer guidance. In each session, the teaching artist will showcase a lesson or technique such as sewing crafts, friendship bracelets, artist cards, carving pink eraser stamps, making beach glass trees, driftwood weaving, wood burning, card making, watercolor or giving support on a project of your design.
The session is open to anyone between the ages of 3-17. Parents or guardians of kids aged 3 and 4 should stay with them during the art-making process. For ages 5-17, parents or guardians can drop them off and check them in, allowing students to explore their creativity in a safe and welcoming space. Adults who want to spread out or get ideas, inspiration, and feedback are welcome to join ART HIVE. You can come with an open and curious mind or a project in mind, as we want to see the studio buzzing creatively.
The session costs $30, and you can participate for as little or as long as you want.
